University Park, Centre County -- Some 400 Penn State students held canisters on Saturday at Beaver Stadium asking game day fans to make a donation. They collected money for ChildHelp -- a non-profit organization which specializes in the prevention and treatment of child abuse. "A lot of alumni (are) coming by and appreciate what we're doing and they know that this is what the student body is really about," said Penn State University Junior Ian Golden who formed a group on facebook aimed at restoring Penn State pride by uniting students for a singular cause. "Show their support for the victims, really focus all this attention back on the victims and their families," he said.

Rev. Robert Hoatson from West Orange, New Jersey agrees. He is president and co-founder of "Road To Recovery" which assists children who were sexually assaulted by clergy or figures of authority. "The accent has to be on the survivors, on the victims. Whenever it's on anybody else or an institution or a football game we're missing the point." He believes Penn State's Board of Trustees did the right thing by purging the university of its President Graham Spanier and Coach Joe Paterno but should have done something even more radical. "I personally think the football game should have been canceled and they should have forfeited as a great sign to the nation," he said.

Now, Rev. Hoatson and many others pray we make the abuse victims the real priority. "What we need to do is to take care of them and to make sure that the other victims who are still silent are able to voice what happened to them and then get the help they need to recover from it."

Rev. Hoatson is, himself, a child sex abuse survivor.
