Calloway, Kentucky (NBC) -
A former Kentucky pastor will head to jail after pleading guilty to first degree sexual abuse.
A Calloway County Judge sentenced Robert Meredith to eight years in a state penitentiary on Monday morning.
Meredith was a pastor at Green Plain Church of Christ in Hazel.
In August, police arrested the 50-year old for sex abuse of a child under 12-years-old. That arrest came after concerned parents contacted police.
Meredith pleaded guilty to the charges in September.
