A window at Jerry Sandusky's College Township home was broken early Friday morning, the second instance of reported vandalism that has targeted the house since Sandusky was indicted on charges of child sexual abuse on Nov. 4.

An unknown person broke a front window of Sandusky's residence at around 12:30 a.m. Friday, State College Police Chief Tom King said.

"We didn’t find any object to indicate what was used to break the window. No bottle or brick was found on either the exterior or interior (of the house), so it appears to have been broken with a hand or a bat, or some other instrument that was not left at the scene," he said.

An alarm triggered the police response, and King did not know if anyone was in the house at the time of the incident. There were no witnesses to the event, and police have no suspects. The window has been boarded up until it can be repaired, King said.

On the night of Thursday, Nov. 10, one or more vandals threw two cinderblock pieces through the window of an unoccupied bedroom in the house. No one was hurt.

Despite the repeated targeting of Sandusky's residence, police will not provide around-the-clock protection there, King said.

"We're not going to be able to station somebody at the house," King said. "We aren't in a position staffing-wise to provide any level of permanent security for any individual. We will continue to patrol the neighborhood for parking issues."

"When people have ongoing problems we encourage them to install cameras to provide evidence of what might be happening," he continued. "It’s not real expensive. Other options could be the installation of motion detectors, lighting, alarm systems or private security."
