STOCKTON, Calif. (KCRA) -- Judge Robert McNatt ruled to keep the personal records of Rev. Michael Kelly sealed for his civil trial.

His alleged victim claims he was sexually abused by the priest more than 20 years ago.

The victim's attorney argued in court that the records should be open to the public as a protection against a sexual predator.

However, Kelly continues in his priestly duties as pastor of St. Joachim's Church in Lockeford.

The Catholic Diocese of San Joaquin said it found no evidence to support the claim and that Kelly passed two lie detector tests.

The trial is set for Feb. 14 next year.

Vince Finaldi, the victim's attorney, expects the records will have to be opened during trial.
