A priest who spent nearly a decade at Mount Angel Seminary faces multiple counts in Sacramento, Calif., of molesting a 14-year-old girl.

Father Uriel Ojeda, 32, was brought back from Redding, Calif., where he has been assigned since July 2009.

After his ordination on June 29, 2007 — he had been at Mount Angel Seminary since 1998 — he was assigned to a parish in Woodland, Calif., where he was for two years. He surrendered to authorities Nov. 30 and was held in the Sacramento County jail.

He has not entered a plea. His arraignment was scheduled today in Sacramento.

Bishop Jaime Soto, who leads the Sacramento Diocese, said the church acted last week after receiving a complaint and notified county child-protective services and police.

"We beg other victims to come forward," said David Clohessy, director of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests. "We would encourage Bishop Soto to personally visit every parish where Father Ojeda worked and seek out victims or witnesses there as well."
