A JURY has retired to consider its verdicts in the case of a Saltford man accused of sexual abuse.

Philip Barlow, of Raleigh Road, denies 19 sexual allegations against three girls over a six-year period – including sexual assault, indecent assault and voyeurism.

Although he denies abusing one of the complainants when she was aged 12 to 14, he has admitted that he had a secret fling with her after she had reached the age of 16.

Friends and family of Barlow told the jury they had never seen him acting improperly with youngsters.

The 29-year-old is a youth leader at Grace Bible Church in Saltford, where his father is the pastor.

The case continues.
