Members of SNAP — the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests — on Thursday demanded more information from the Jefferson City Catholic Diocese about the case of Father Brendan Doyle.

A priest since 1963 and a Helias chaplain/counselor and religion instructor since 1989, Doyle, 73, has been placed on paid leave while an unidentified law enforcement agency investigates the origins of what were called “inappropriate web images” found on his personal computer last month.

Doyle had taken the computer to Helias so an employee there could repair what the priest said might have been a computer virus.

SNAP member Fred Carr of North St. Louis County told reporters that Bishop John Gaydos isn’t keeping a promise he made to keep people better informed about the Doyle situation.
