Former Redding Priest Accused of Child Molestation Walks out of Jail

The Redding priest accused of molesting a girl under the age of 14 walked out of the Sacramento County Jail Monday night.

Father Uriel Ojeda walked out about 10:00 p.m. after supporters raised enough to pay his $700,000 bail.

Reporters on the ground told us there was an impromptu festival outside the jail where supporters were playing music and singing.

Prosecutors say the 32-year old confessed to a diocese investigator that he repeatedly molested a teenage girl under the age of 14. However, Ojeda's defense attorney's say that confession never happened.

Four of the seven alleged incidents happened in Shasta County last summer. The three other alleged incidents happened in Sacramento.
