A former Stockton priest who was deported to Ireland after being convicted of child molestation was sentenced Monday to three years in an Irish prison for possession of child pornography.

Oliver O'Grady, 66, was sentenced at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court after 65,000 graphic images of children were discovered on a laptop he left behind on a plane in Amsterdam, according to an article on Newstalk.ie.

According to the Lodi News Sentinel, O'Grady had served at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Lodi from 1971-1978, and at parishes in Stockton, Turlock , Hughson and San Andreas from 1979 through the time of his arrest in 1993.

O'Grady was defrocked by the church and served a seven-year sentence at Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, California. Upon his release from prison, O'Grady returned to his native Ireland then moved to Holland where he volunteered at a parish under the alias Brother Francis (Francis is his middle name), according to the Sentinel.

It was following a flight from Holland to Ireland when O'Grady forgot his laptop. The computer was discovered on the plane by the Gardai (Irish National Police Force). The Gardai then traced O'Grady to a hostel in Dublin where they discovered thousands of pieces of child porn on hard drives and USB keys, according to the reports.

O'Grady was arrested and admitted to three counts of possession of child pornography. He was found guilty and sentenced nearly two years later.
