A national support group for victims of clergy abuse is remembering former District Attorney Nathan Stansbury. Barbara Dorris, the outreach director of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), says, "Our hearts go out to the loved ones of Nathan Stansbury . . . who prosecuted the first pedophile priest to attract national headlines." Stansbury, who died last weekend, successfully prosecuted Fr. Gilbert Gauthe in 1985. Dorris continues, "Because Mr. Stansbury showed courage, other kids were spared the devastation of child sexual abuse."
