Disgraced former priest faces 10 additional child sex charges

Ten additional child sex charges have been laid against a defrocked Hunter Valley priest in Newcastle Local court.

69 year old John Sidney Denham is already serving a lengthy jail term for sexually abusing 39 boys in Newcastle, Sydney and Taree.

The former Catholic Priest declined to appear by video-link in Newcastle local court from Goulburn jail.

He has been charged with another 10 sex offences against two boys.

The offences were allegedly committed in the 1970's.

Late last year police laid 40 fresh counts of indecent assault against Denham for offences relating to a dozen other alleged victims.

In Newcastle Local Court, Magistrate Ian Cheetham adjourned the case to August the 22nd for mention.

The majority of the alleged offences occurred between 1975 and 1979 at St Pius Catholic High School at Adamstown.
