October 8, 2012

http://reform-network.net/

What: A media conference on behalf of a Penn State University/Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse victim from Massachusetts.

Where: Outside the Centre County, PA Courthouse, North Allegheny and High Streets, Bellefonte, PA, 16823

When: Tuesday, October 9, 2012 immediately following the Jerry Sandusky sentencing hearing.

Who: The co-founder and President of Road to Recovery, Inc., the agency that currently is helping a Jerry Sandusky victim heal from the ravages of horrific sexual abuse on the campus of Penn State University. Road to Recovery has been assisting with the daily needs of the victim since his release from a Massachusetts prison.

Why: Several years ago, a high school football star from Massachusetts, who was heavily recruited nationally to play Division I college football, was invited to attend a summer camp sponsored by Head Coach Joe Paterno and the Penn State University football program. It was at that Joe Paterno-sponsored camp that the high school football star met Jerry Sandusky who was still an integral part of the Penn State University football program’s coaching staff. Jerry Sandusky sexually abused this high school football star more than once, and the young man’s life spiraled out of control.

Immediately after being sexually abused by Sandusky, the high school football star began to use alcohol at the camp to dull the pain from the trauma. When the Penn State football staff became aware of his alcohol use, they abandoned the high school football star and contacted other Division I college football programs that were recruiting him and made them aware of his alcohol use, blackballing his chances of becoming a Division I college football player. At that time, no one at Penn State University bothered to find out what had happened to the young man at the summer camp.

Contacts: Attorney Mitchell Garabedian, Boston, MA – 617-523-6250
