A Kingsland Deacon has been arrested and accused of molesting a four-year-old and a seven-year-old.

St. Marys Police officers arrested Clinton Jones Rivers, a deacon at a Kingsland church, October 10 at a home on Thoroughbred Road in St. Marys on two counts of sexual exploitation of children.

In July 2012, the St. Marys Police Department received a tip saying two children, ages 4 and 7, were possible victims of child sexual abuse. The St. Marys Police Department Criminal Investigation Division launched an investigation into these allegations and learned from the children involved that Mr. Rivers was touching them inappropriately on their "private areas."

It was also reported that Mr. Rivers had exposed the 7 year old to pornography on his home computer. Mr. Rivers was initially arrested on two counts of child molestation and one count of furnishing obscene materials to minors.

Police also took several electronic devices including personal-use computer hard drives, discs, homemade pornographic DVDs, and other digital storage devices. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations says the items included images of what appeared to be very young children engaged in sexual conduct. The pediatric specialist was able to state that the images appeared to be of children ages 12 and younger.

The St. Marys Police Department identified 112 pornographic DVDs which contained a variety of pornographic behavior ranging from homosexual to bestiality. The homosexual pornography appeared to involve teenage males, but exact ages of the participants have not been determined at this point.

Police are now working to find the children involved. If you know anything, call the St. Marys Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 912-882-4488.
