ommitted sex offenses involving a youth at his church.

David A. Young, 46, pleaded not guilty Oct. 22 to 20 counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor stemming from alleged incidents with a girl while she was 13 and 14, according to court records and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.

Young was arrested earlier this month at the Simpson Chapel United Methodist Church in Rio Grande, Ohio, where he is a pastor, according to the attorney general’s office.

Authorities said the victim was part of a class that Young taught at the church.

Authorities did not release information about the frequency or locations of the alleged abuse, but investigators fear that there may be other victims in the community.

“These are very serious allegations, and we urge anyone with additional information to come forward,” said Gallia County Sheriff Joseph Browning.

Young is being held in the Gallia County Jail on $250,000 bond.

Anyone with information regarding David Young can contact the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 855-BCI-OHIO (855-224-6446) or the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office at (740) 446-1221.
