Victory Employees Released Early from Jail after Serving As Trustees

Two Victory Christian Center employees sentenced to 30 days in jail for failing to report the rape of a 13-year-old girl at the church have returned to work after serving fifteen days.

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office says Anna George, 25 and Paul Willemstein, 33 served as trustees while in jail, and so qualified to get double credit for time served.

They had pleaded no contest to one count each of failure to report child abuse.

Three other employees who also pleaded no contest never saw jail time.

John and Charica Daugherty, 28 and 27 respectively, the son and daughter-in-law of Victory founders Billy Joe and Sharon Daugherty, originally said they would fight the charge and go to trial, but changed their minds and ended up receiving five year sentences, deferred.

They will have to meet with the judge regularly during that time, and live up to other requirements including speaking at other churches or organizations that deal with children about the dangers of predators.

If they fulfill the judge's requirements, their records will be expunged.

The fifth employee, Harold "Frank" Sullivan, 73, received one year suspended.

Former Victory janitor Chris Denman pleaded guilty to six felonies, including the rape of the young girl.

He was sentenced to 55 years in prison and five years probation.

Another former employee, Israel Castillo, 23, has pleaded not guilty to to a charge of making a lewd or indecent proposal to a minor and faces trial in August.
