The Roc Posts Openings for Pastor Positions

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

The Richmond Outreach Center is posting openings for two pastor positions, due to the resignations of several staff members following child sex abuse allegations.

The ROC Board of Directors posted a notice Thursday that it was looking to permanently fill the positions of Senior Pastor and Executive Pastor with two new pastors from outside the organization.

The search is expected to take six months to a year and will include help from several experienced, Christian consultants.

The church is also hiring an interim preacher to preach at Six O'Clock ROC, their Saturday night church service, until the position of Senior Pastor is filled.

Former Executive Pastor Jason Helmlinger voluntarily removed himself from his responsibilities, until a criminal case involving threatening phone calls has been resolved. Helmlinger will also seek counseling regarding this issue.

Geronimo Aguilar, also known as Pastor G, stepped down from his positions as President of the Board and Pastor at the Richmond Outreach Center due to child sexual abuse charges.

Texas authorities charged Aguilar with seven felony counts in two child sex abuse cases. The cases involve claims by two women dating back to 1996. Four of the counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child under 14, are first degree felonies that could carry life in prison.
