Roc Board to Give 'Pastor G' 6 Months Severance

RICHMOND, VA – After resigning amid multiple felony charges in Texas, Geronimo Aguilar, the founding pastor of The Richmond Outreach Center, will receive six months severance from the Richmond-based church and will continue to live in the church's parsonage.

The ROC Board made the announcement Tuesday, saying Aguilar would receive six months of severance pay and would be allowed to reside in the parsonage with his family for six months.

Aguilar, known as "Pastor G," and three other pastors' resignations were accepted by the ROC's board of directors last week, according to a release on the church's website. 

Aguilar is facing multiple felony charges in Texas in two alleged cases of child sex abuse.

Also resigning is executive pastor Jason Helmlinger, who is facing a misdemeanor charge of threatening a former ROC pastor who spoke to 8News about the allegations against Aguilar. Two others also resigned Wednesday: Pastor G's brother Matthew Aguilar and Pastor Andrew Delgado, neither of whom are facing any charges.

In a statement on the church's website, the board said, "We wish the best for the pastors and their families."

"The Richmond Outreach Center remains focused on serving those in need and we will never stray from this mission."

"The past twelve years at The ROC have been an amazing journey," Aguilar said in a statement on the church's website.

Arrest warrants out of Texas reveal shocking new details about Aguilar. The arrest warrants obtained by 8News show the alleged victims claim they were repeatedly sexually assaulted by Aguilar, known as "Pastor G," and claim the abuse went on for years.

One of the alleged victims claims she was just 11-years-old when Aguilar began penetrating her with his finger.

According to the arrest warrants the girl's sister alleges "Pastor G" repeatedly sexually assaulted her when she was just 13-years-old. At the time, the pastor was 26-years-old and married.

The documents support what the alleged victims told 8News in an exclusive interview several months ago.

"I was 13, and it started out the same way where he was very flirtatious, and it progressed," an alleged victim told 8News in an exclusive interview. "Within a month's time, we started having sexual intercourse."

The Texas court documents go on to state the alleged victim's parents allowed Aguilar to move into their home because he was a "trusted spiritual leader" at their Texas church.

But it was inside their home that women allege the sexual abuse began back in October of 1996.

According to the warrants, the older sister claims "Pastor G" would have sex with her in motels, the church van, the church bathroom and in public restrooms.

The documents also state the girl's parents claim they caught the pastor in the act and that the pastor admitted to it.

The arrest warrants detail statements from at least half a dozen witnesses in the case.

Aguilar, who was extradited to Texas on seven felony charges, was released from jail last week after posting $200,000 bond.

The pastor's attorney David Carlson has said all along his client is innocent. A gag order recently issued in the case prevents them from commenting further.
