Brooklyn DA Charles J. Hynes

Yesterday, I reported that Abe Rubin – who is charged with bribery, witness tampering and coercion for trying to force Nechemya Weberman's victim to leave the country and not testify against Weberman – would get a sweetheart plea deal and will not receive any prison time. In exchange for that, Brooklyn's challenged DA Charles J. Hynes would get the Satmar bloc vote.

Today as part of a sweetheart plea deal, Rubin admitted he offered the victim's then-boyfriend $500,000 to get her out of the country so she could not testify against Weberman. For that crime, Rubin could serve at most 6 months in jail – but he likely won't serve any time at all.

The DA 'asked' for prison time. But the DA had also allowed Rubin to plead guilty to a an E felony. People convicted of E felonies with no prior criminal history rarely get prison sentences, and the judge therefore said he will sentence Rubin, in late October at the earliest, likely to no prison time – another coodinated travesty of justice in corrupt Brooklyn.

Satmar got what it wanted and Brooklyn DA Charles J. Hynes will now get what he wants – the Satmar bloc vote.

Special note to Oren Yaniv of the NY Daily News: You need to learn the meaning and implications of two terms in the US Penal Code: "public corruption" and '"conspiricy."

There will one day be a federal investigation, arrests and trials. Start learning the meaning and implications of those terms now, because they almost certainly will apply to you, indicted or not, as well.

Update 5:32 pm CDT – Since the Daily News' Oren Yaniv is on Twitter accusing me of misreporting the story, here is what Abraham "Abe" Rubin was charged with on June 21, 2012. This is taken directly from the DA's own press release:

Abraham Rubin, 48, was indicted on charges including four counts of Bribing a Witness,  two counts of Tampering with a Witness in the Fourth Degree and one count of Coercion in the Second Degree.  If convicted, Rubin faces up to seven years in prison.  The indictment charges Rubin with trying to silence the victim and her boyfriend, who was the outcry witness, and to get them to drop the case by bribing them with $500,000, telling them that they should drop the case because justice would be better served.  Rubin even offered to provide an attorney to the witnesses to counsel them on how to be uncooperative and make themselves unavailable for the upcoming trial.  Rubin suggested that they flee the country to avoid testifying.
Today, Rubin took a plea deal that carries a maximum sentence of 6 months in prison and is likely to serve no time at all.

Orin Yaniv may be too corrupt or too unintellegent to understand what this means. Whatever he is, he should not be working as journalist.
