PROPOFOL

The Missouri Dept. of Corrections is returning the propofol ordered in 2012 that was manufactured by a German company. The department says the remaining supply is from a domestic manufacturer.

IKE & TINA TURNER – THE OTHER SIDE

Ike and Tina Turner: On the Road, 1971-1972″, a documentary by Bob Gruen depicts the other side of the duo with Tina (the former Anna Mae Bullock) cooking for her children and showing how the back-up dancers – the Ikettes – how to move.  The magnificent duo of American rock and soul began their climb up at venues in our town’s Club Imperial and in East St. Louis. It began with Ike’s band, Kings of Rhythm, led by Chuck Berry.

AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE ACT

A family of four making $50k a year can buy a middle-of-the-road “silver” health plan for $282 a month. Medicare recipients will get a benefit of a few hundred a month. That could probably justify conservative GOP’ers greatest fears, according to Jonathan Gruber, architect of the Affordable Care Act, who spoke before  a WashU audience. He also noted, “The U.S. is the only industrialized nation in the world in which someone could face bankruptcy as a result of genetics or a traffic accident.”

MOLESTER

Brother Bernard Hartman, who admitting molesting a child and reportedly has lived here for the last two years, will appear next month in an Australian court on charges that he abused four kids, the Aussey Broadcasting reports. He belongs to the St. Louis-based US Marianists, the group that runs Chaminade and Vianney high schools. Two years ago, Marianist spokeswoman Diane Guerra told reporters that Hartman was “very well supervised.”
