The sex abuse trial of twice convicted Oblate priest Father Eric Dejager continues today in Iqaluit in Nunavut.  Unfortunately this Canadian horror story is now receiving little media coverage.  Hopefully there will be coverage of yesterdays’ testimony.  There was nothing from Monday.

Today I will blog the testimony from Wednesday past when I had the good fortune to be in the Iqaluit courtroom to see and hear with my own eyes and ears.  Some of those children were such brave little souls, doing what they could as a children to protect other children from “Eric.”

Please keep the victims/complainants  in your thoughts and prayers.  This trial is very difficult for them.

For those in the Pembroke Ontario area, a belated posting yesterday of the following articles on the nine-month-plus-ten-day sentencing of Father Dan Miller:

05 December 2013:  Former priest jailed for nine months

04 December 2013:   Justice? (Eganville Leader editorial)

04 December 2013:   Father Daniel Miller victims feel betrayed by church hierarchy

04 December 2013:   Priest gets nine months plus in jail for molesting boys

Good coverage!

As most of you know Father Miller is now facing new charges.  His next courtdate on those charges is 16 January 2014.

I  encourage all those who have sex abuse allegations against Father Daniel Miller to find the courage to contact the police.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all,  those whose allegations evoked a ‘guilty’ plea, those whose allegations were dropped, those who came forward recently, and those who may be struggling to come forward.

Check NEW to the Site (NEW).  There has been a lot happening around the world in the past week.  I was unable to keep on top of events while in the North  so committed yesterday to doing a bit of a catch up.  There are still articles to post but it’s a start :)

No news on the outcome of the Father Jacques Faucher courtdate in Ottawa yesterday.  Hopefully I can get the next courtdate today. As soon as I get the info I will post and make comment on the Father Jacxques Faucher page.

Enough for now,

Sylvia
