A tip of the hat to Tom Tipton of our town who won the New Yorker magazine’s cartoon caption contest this week. . .Last month, Judge Robert Dierker re-affirmed his order that Archbishop Robert Carlson give years of records of child sex allegations against priests and lay employees to attorney Ken Chackes, who represents most such victims here. Carlson has ousted Greensfelder lawyers from the case and replaced them with Colorado attorney Martin Nussbaum. The case centers on alleged child sex crimes committed by Fr. Joseph Ross at St. Cronan’s parish as recently as 2000. Nussbaum helped Catholic officials in Cardinal Bernard Law’s scandal-ridden Boston Archdiocese. He also represented Republican Pastor Ted Haggard’s church after the preacher resigned as head of the National Association of Evangelicals when an escort claimed he has been having a a sexual relationship with the pastor for three years. . .”Friends” alum Matthew Perry is bringing back to television (CBS) a remake of “The Odd Couple,” a Neil Simon’s classic play, that once hit the boards at the Muny with Tony Randall and Jack Klugman. Other incarnations coming to television: “Murder, She Wrote” with Octavia Spencer; “Remington Steele”; “Tales from the Darkside”; “Reality Bites” and “Ghost.”
