Priest Sentenced to 7.5 Years in Prison for Molesting Boy

Updated: Wednesday, February 12 2014, 12:42 PM EST CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A federal judge sentences a priest who molested a boy to 7 and a half years in prison. Father Robert Poandl was convicted of federal sex abuse charges back in September. Prosecutors successfully argued that Poandl abused a boy during a visit to a church in Spencer, West Virginia in 1991. The victim was ten-years-old at the time. Poandl had served as a priest with the Glenmary Home Missioners in Fairfield between 1998 and 1994. In addition to the prison time, Poandl must pay a $2,000 fine and get treatment. He immediately taken to prison.
