An Archbishop Curley High School science teacher has been charged with sexual abuse of a student. According to charging documents, Lynette Trotta and the victim began texting and emailing each other in November 2013. At some point, those exchanges allegedly became sexual. The student said that between December 2013 and January 2014, Trotta would pull him out of study hall so they could spend, "quality time" in her classroom. The student says they kissed and fondled each other in her room. He also alleged that the two engaged in sexual activity in her car. Trotta is being held on three charges related to these allegations. Her bail was set at $250,000. Trotta and the librarian, who the Archdiocese says was aware of the abuse but delayed reporting it, have been suspended. Read the statement of probable cause here.
