Abraham "Abe" Rubin, Released from Jail Friday, Gets Hero's Welcome from Satmar

The Aharon faction of Satmar hasidim gave convicted witness tamperer Abraham "Abe" Rubin a hero's welcome on his release from jail. Rubin served only 2 1/2 months in prison for trying to bribe Satmar sex criminal Nechemya Weberman's victim and her boyfriend. Rubin offered them $500,000 to flee the country and not testify against Weberman. They refused and told police and the DA, leading to Rubin's arrest. Rubin offered them $500,000 to flee the country and not testify against Weberman. They refused and told police and the DA, leading to Rubin's arrest. Former Brooklyn DA Charles J. Hynes only asked for a 6 month sentence, despite the fact that Rubin committed 4 D felonies and an A misdemeanor. The judge noted the DA's apparently false concern for jailing Rubin and gave Rubin four months. He was released early for good behavior. Later Friday, Nuchem Rosenberg posted official Satmar announcements praising Rubin and announcing a celebration for him. One of those documents is posted below. You can see the rest and a picture of Rubin's party on Nuchem's blog. Weberman is serving a 50 year sentence for repeatedly sexually abusing a girl he was counseling.
