Santiago.- Dominican Republic’s only cardinal and three catholic bishops on Friday called the Vatican’s decision to convict its former envoy in the country Jozef Wesolowski for the sexual abuse of minors, the best response on Justice.

Cardinal Nicolas de Jesus Lopez Rodriguez, Santiago archbishop Ramon Benito de la Rosa Carpio; San Francisco emeritus bishop Jesus Maria Moya and La Altagracia Archdiocese bishop Nicanor Pena said it was the best decision the Holy See could’ve made.

Lopez Rodriguez said the conviction sends a message "to the enemies of the Catholic Church who continue talking gibberish,” adding that it was the best response possible.
