The West Australian and News.com.au were the only (brave) few media outlets who reported it with sympathy for truckers. The West Australian title was Pell's trucker analogy 'ludicrous'. News.com.au title was Cardinal George Pell insults truck drivers over remarks at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. The ATA was swift to respond angrily to Pell. The Chair of the Australian Trucking Association, Noelene Watson, said Cardinal Pell had publicly insulted every truck driver in Australia and released this official statement entitled ATA BLASTS PELL FOR CHILD ABUSE COMPARISON
