Derek Hutter (Sachse Police Department )

An arrest affidavit states that the 14-year-old’s parents contacted police on Oct. 3 after Hutter emailed her, asking her to participate in and photograph “sexually explicit acts.”

Police found several explicit photographs of the teenager on Hutter’s phone and believe Hutter asked the girl to send the photos to him.

The girl told police she and Hutter had sex 20 times between January (she was 13 years old at the time) and September, the affidavit states. She said the incidents happened at the South Garland Baptist Church and at Hutter’s house.

Hutter is the South Garland Baptist Church’s youth minister, according to the church’s website. He has previously worked at Urbandale First Baptist Church in Dallas and two other churches in Liberty County near Houston.

He has a wife and a daughter, the South Garland Baptist Church website states.

Original post at 2:55 p.m. Friday: A Garland youth minister was arrested in Sachse Friday on accusations of sexual misconduct with a 14-year-old girl, Sachse police said in a news release.

Derek Hutter, 37, was charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child, possession of child pornography and online solicitation of a minor. His bail was set at $150,000.

Police said the charges stem from an alleged relationship between Hutter, a minister at the South Garland Baptist Church, and the girl, a Sachse resident.

The two allegedly met through the church, according to the news release.
