Forest Reuben Gibson, a former Canyon County youth pastor, has pleaded guilty to the charge of sexual battery to a minor.

Gibson entered his guilty plea in 3rd Judicial District Court Friday. Because of that plea, a hearing that had been set for Wednesday was canceled, said Josh Dalton, deputy prosecuting attorney for Payette County.

A sentencing date has been set for Jan. 9.

Gibson, 33, was arrested April 28 after being

accused of sexually abusing a 16- or 17-year-old. The crime was filed in Payette County, but investigators also looked for victims in Canyon and other counties.
