Oregon City Church-going Sex Offender Arrested

A 61-year-old registered sex offender was arrested in Oregon City in November for the alleged sexual abuse of a 6-year-old girl was arrested in November. Jon Patrick Wheat allegedly met the girl while attending a church in Oregon City, authorities said Wednesday. He was taken into custody November 24 at the 76 Gas Station in Damascus, where he worked. Investigators are looking into the possibility there may be more victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Oregon City Tip Line at 503.496.1616. Wheat’s bail was set at $300,000 and he faces one count of first-degree sexual abuse.
