A former minister at a church in Lewis County, Ky. has been arrested after being indicted on sexual abuse and sodomy charges, allegedly involving a child under 12 years old.

Duncan Aker, Jr, 63, of Greensburg, Indiana, formerly of Vanceburg, is charged with four counts of 1st Degree Sodomy and five counts of 1st Degree Sexual Abuse.

Aker, Jr. was indicted on April 24, and returned to Lewis County on Monday.

He is being held in the Lewis County Detention Center and will be arraigned on the charges next week.

According to the indictment the alleged incidents took place between October 2007 and March 2010.

From 2006 to 2011, Aker, Jr. was a pastor at the Vanceburg Christian Church.

The indictment says the alleged abuse took place in a vehicle along the side of the AA Highway, in Aker, Jr.'s home, in an outbuilding he owned, and in the church where he was a pastor.

Kentucky State Police in Morehead say they have been investigating the allegations for past 3-4 months. They say the alleged victim, a boy under 12 at the time, recently moved back to the area.

The Lewis County Herald reports that Aker, Jr. was recently listed as a Christian church in Greensburg.
