An ex-Spanish teacher at the Michigan Catholic high school, already imprisoned on third-degree sexual conduct charges, has plead guilty on Wednesday to lesser charges.

The former teacher is accused of having had sexual relations with a male student.

Kathryn Ronk initially refused the plea, however, on Wednesday, she pleaded guilty to two separate counts of criminal sexual conduct.

The woman had already been facing first-degree counts as well as other charges involving a 15-year-old student.

“I’m so sorry for the victim and his family, for the school and the community, my family… and I’m so sorry for my husband,”

the woman said.

After having accepted a plea in February for lesser charges, Ronk received 15 years with parole eligibility.

According to authorities, the woman had engaged in sexual acts with a sophomore at Bishop Foley High School, Madison Heights.

Additionally, she was also facing different charges in Macomb County. There, she was accused of having had sexual relations with another 15-year-old in a Macomb home as well as a parked car.

Ronk was wearing a plain prison jumpsuit upon entering the courthouse.

Initial investigations began in 2014 when the boy’s parents first discovered their son’s relationship with the school teacher. Ronk was immediately fired from the school she had been working in when the administration discovered that the woman had been placed under investigation.

Police statements reveal that Ronk admitted to having had sexual relations with the 15-year-old during school hours, in different classrooms, as well as after hours.

The woman is also facing additional charges for having provided the boy with alcohol. Apart from the criminal sexual conduct charges and the furnishing alcohol to a minor charges, she also stands accused of having enticed students to engage in sexually explicit image exchange.

Ronk’s sentencing is set for July first.
