Community members in Bedford are angry after learning that an employee at First Baptist Church of Bedford was recently indicted on sex abuse charges in Alabama.

Investigators arrested and indicted Kyle Adcock back in January on 20 counts of rape and nine counts of sodomy. Authorities believe that the incidents happened while Adcock worked at Woodward Avenue Baptist Church from 2010 to 2012. Police said that the female victim was 14 years old at the time.

Adcock has not been convicted, and has pleaded not guilty in court.

After he was released, the judge in Alabama ordered Adcock’s parents to supervise him, mandating that the suspect live with his parents at their home here in Grapevine.

Adcock is listed on a recent church newsletter as a “worship pastor” at First Baptist Church of Bedford. Calls and emails to the church were not returned.

A protest is planned outside of the church at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. That group is urging people who worship at the church to denounce the pastor.
