After nearly 13 hours of deliberation over two days, a federal court jury of seven men and five women found the Rev. Joseph Maurizio Jr. guilty of three counts of engaging in illicit sexual conduct (of three minors) in foreign places, also referred to as sexual tourism, and one count each of possessing child pornography and money laundering.

On the eighth day of the trial, the jury also found the Central City Roman Catholic priest not guilty of one count of engaging in illicit sexual conduct in foreign places and two counts of money laundering, or transferring money from the United States to another country to be used to promote illegal activity.
