EUGENE, Ore. -- A local Eugene insurance agent, church volunteer, and family man is accused of dozens of sex crimes.

After turning himself into the Eugene Police Department, the local insurance agent, Rick Jackson was booked on Friday for 30 counts of sex crimes.

The charges include sodomy, unlawful penetration, and sexual abuse. All are felony charges.

Jackson owned an insurance agency on River Road in Northwest Eugene.

Neighbors said he recently took down his insurance signs and spray painted over his slogan, "the most beloved insurance agent in town."

We also confirmed that Jackson was active in the Willamette Christian Center, a church on the 2500 block of West 18th Avenue.

Jackson held a volunteer leadership position for the church. He was let go weeks ago, after church officials learned about his allegations.

Jackson also owned a rental property behind his insurance agency.

The tenants said they are not surprised by the news.

"I personally always picked up on a creepy vibe from him. I guess that it is the only way I can describe it. I just quickly knew I didn't like him," said tenant, Patrick Doolin.

Others had differing opinions, some neighboring business owners said Jackson is a nice guy and a family man. They said he has a large family with adopted kids.

Jackson's arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
