A jury convicted 52-year-old Ubaldo Ocasio of sexually abusing young girls in his congregation.

A Cleveland minister who sexually abused young girls in his congregation will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty made the announcement Thursday.

A jury convicted 52-year-old Ubaldo Ocasio on one count of rape, six counts of gross sexual imposition, six counts of kidnapping, two counts of sexual battery, and four counts of endangering children.

Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Shirley Strickland Saffold sentenced Ocasio to life in prison with first eligibility for parole in 128 years.

Ocasio will also be required to register as a Tier III sexual offender for the rest of his life.

Between 2011 and 2013, Ocasio sexually molested and raped four juvenile females.

They were all parishioners of Iglesia Misionera Casa de Misericordia in Cleveland. He served as a pastor there.

According to the prosecutor's office, Ocasio's victims, who ranged in age from 11 to 16, were assaulted in numerous locations. This reportedly includes a church van, a church basement and even in one of the children's homes.

The activity was uncovered after Ocasio was seen at one of the girl's schools. The principal became suspicious and contacted authorities.

Three other three victims then stepped forward.

"We are pleased with the judge's sentence, because now instead of standing on a pulpit, this defendant will be sitting in prison for the rest of his life. And that is exactly where he belongs for what he's done to those four girls," said Assistant Prosecuting Attorney John Colan, who with Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Jillian Eckart represented the State of Ohio in this case. "To have abused a sacred trust the way this defendant did is appalling."
