A lawsuit filed on Thursday in the Manhattan Supreme Court by furious parishoners claims that Miqueli would spend $1,000 at a time for bondage sessions with 'homosexual sex master' Keith Crist (pictured above)

The Catholic priest who allegedly stole more than $1million in donations to pay for gay sex with a sadomasochistic 'master' used to routinely berate parishioners for being gay or single parents, members of his congregation claim.

Rev Peter Miqueli resigned from his post as pastor at St Frances de Chantal in Throggs Neck, the Bronx, on Saturday.

The 53-year-old is accused of taking from the donation plate at St. Frances de Chantal and also stealing from his former church, St. Frances Xavier Cabrini on Roosevelt Island.

According to a lawsuit filed against him in Manhattan Supreme Court, the stolen donations were used to fund his $1,000-a-time bondage sessions with a gay 'sex master' named Keith Crist.

Now, members of Miqueli's flock are speaking out, claiming the disgraced reverend seemed to harbor a unique hatred for homosexuals and single parents.

'This priest rejected my confirmation claiming my single mother was not a "Christian in good standing",' congregant Genevieve Holmes wrote on a petition to have him removed from his post.

'I attended every class and completed every assignment,' she continued. 'He did this the week before I was intended to be confirmed.'

Danielle Schepis, who studied at St Francis last year in a bid to convert to Catholicism, said: 'I remember a class inparticular [sic] where he said that being gay is a sin and he was very serious on the topic. Proving he is a pathological liar.'

She continued: 'In the class when a classmate defended gay's [sic] he was almost enraged.'

Maqueli also asked Schepis probing questions about her sexual history during confession, she wrote.

Just four days ago, parishioner Laura Long wrote on the petition that Miqueli had started to haggle for more money from congregants.

'At least 5% more a week as he wants to stand free from the archdiocese,' Long wrote. 'This is insane.'

The announcement that he had resigned was made at 5pm Mass at Miqueli's church in the Bronx, according to the New York Daily News.

'This is a good result for these people,' said attorney Michael Dowd, who represents the two parishes that filed the a lawsuit.

'But they want their money back.'

Timothy Cardinal Dolan had already warned that Miqueli might be forced to give up his collar.

He said of Miqueli 'obviously, his [career] will be over' if a church probe turns up evidence of anything illegal.

'I mean, if these allegations are true - they're awful, they're vicious, they're mean.

'We've got to get to the bottom of it. But right now, we've done our best looking into it and haven't found any fire.'

The lawsuit also claims that the Archdiocese of New York and Cardinal Dolan knew about Miqueli's 'illegal scheme' and did nothing to stop it.

'This lawsuit seeks to finally put an end to this truly sinful conduct so that St. Frances de Chantal parish can regain the strength, spirituality and faith it once had before Father Miqueli arrived,' court papers say.

The New York Post reported that during sex sessions, Miqueli was forced to drink Crist's urine. Miqeuli and his 'lover' shared a home in Brick, New Jersey after Miqueli paid $264,000 six years ago. Miqueli also paid $1,075.50 a month for Crist's East Harlem apartment.

The suit alleges that Crist was put in charge of the Cabrini thrift shop where he reportedly pilfered money and destroyed financial documents.

Miqueli allegedly also used the stolen cash for vacations in Italy and Florida.

The suit also alleges that maintenance workers at St. Frances de Chantal saw 'several unstacked piles of cash, each approximately one foot high, scattered throughout Father Miqueli's rectory residence ' during the summer of 2014.

Miqeuli's neighbors say that there are several male visitors who frequent the New Jersey home and that he invited the men to join him in his spacious hot tub.

Crist's on-and-off girlfriend Tatyana Gudin said that Crist once hurt his knees while having sex with Gudin in a bathtub.

Gudin alerted church officials about the alleged relationship in May.

The lawsuit says a Bronx doctor provided Crist and Miqueli with illegal drugs. Miqueli also allegedly gave $60,000 to the doctor for the down payment on a house.

'I feel really bad for the parishioners,' Dowd said.

'We've done a lot of homework. This is a bad guy.'
