"The Holy Father is gradually trying to purify it"

ROME (ChurchMilitant.com) - Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga, nicknamed the "Vice-Pope" for his position of influence with the Holy Father, is acknowledging the existence of a "gay lobby" in the Vatican — a group Pope Francis is aware of and is trying to eliminate.

The head of the Pope's Gang of Nine, Maradiaga admitted to the existence of the homosexual cabal in a January 12 interview with the Heraldo de Honduras paper. Asked whether there had ever been "an infiltration of the gay community" at the Vatican, he replied, "Not only that, but the Holy Father has said there is a 'lobby' in this sense. The Holy Father is gradually trying to purify it."

Although their situation must be addressed pastorally, he explained, "what is wrong cannot be true," and Church teaching cannot be revised to accept same-sex "marriage."

No, we must understand that there are things that can be changed and others not. Natural law cannot be changed. We see how God has designed the human body, the body of the man and the woman's body to complement each other and transmit life. The opposite is not the plan of creation; there are things that cannot be changed.

He spent the rest of the interview discussing the Vatican Bank, curial reforms and various projects he's working on in his archdiocese.

Pope Francis first admitted to the existence of a gay lobby in 2013 in a meeting with a group of religious.

"In the Curia, there are holy people. But there is also a stream of corruption," he admitted. "The 'gay lobby' is mentioned, and it is true, it is there. We need to see what we can do."

After the remarks received widespread media attention, Pope Francis seemed to backtrack on his claim, writing off the existence of a homosexual mafia during a July 2013 in-flight interview — the same one in which he made his infamous "Who am I to judge?" remark.

"So much is written about the gay lobby. I have yet to find anyone who can give me a Vatican identity card with 'gay.' They say they are there."

Father Dariusz Oko, a well-known priest in Poland, has written extensively of what he's called a "homolobby" in the Church. In his 2012 paper "With the Pope Against the Homoheresy," Fr. Oko detailed the existence of a massive underground network of active homosexual priests who are working to undermine Church teaching and discipline on sexual morality.

The enemy is not only outside the Church, but within it as well, sometimes perfectly camouflaged, like the Trojan Horse. We are dealing not only with the problem of a homo-ideology and a homolobby outside the Church, but with an analogous problem within it as well, where homo-ideology takes the form of a homoheresy.

He went on to cite the 2011 John Jay Report, which revealed that 80 percent of sex abuse cases in the Church in America involved abuse of post-pubescent males, a pathology termed "ephebophilia" — a common phenomenon in the gay subculture.

"That fact has been carefully hidden and ignored," Oko wrote, "as it reveals particularly well the hypocrisy of the homolobby in both the world and the Church."

The sex abuse goes well beyond America, Fr. Oko claimed, saying it reaches the highest ranks in Poland and other countries around the world. At bottom, this lobby scandalizes millions of souls, "putting a huge obstacle on their road to faith, to Christ, to salvation."

Just before the start of the 2015 Synod on the Family, a Polish priest working for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith publicly announced he was an active homosexual, appearing at his press conference with his boyfriend, and issued a list of demands asking the Church to change Her teaching on homosexuality.

"We demand that the Pope immediately abolish regrettable instructions about refusing the ordination of homosexuals," Fr. Christopher Charamsa declared, among other things.

Although the Vatican immediately denounced Charamsa, his example proved Fr. Oko's point — that active homosexuals are working at the highest levels in the Church attempting to undermine Her doctrines and discipline.

Father Oko ended his paper on the homolobby urging the faithful to fight against this destructive force. "The Church has been created as the most wonderful, most beautiful community of love and kindness, of believers living in peace with the Lord and with one another. We must not allow our greatest treasure to be destroyed."
