A second and third alleged victim came forward to testify against former priest Mark Broussard, who appeared again in court Tuesday morning for trial on molestation charges stemming from the 1980s.

Broussard was living in Duson when he was arrested in 2012 on rape and battery charges after a letter surfaced in late 2011 alleging that the former priest had sexually abused a Calcasieu Parish man as a child.

So far, three alleged victims have taken the stand claiming Broussard sexually abused each of them when he was their priest in Lake Charles.

The first victim sparked the investigation and trial when he wrote a letter to the bishop with molestation accusations. That victim testified about his experiences on the first day of the trial.

Tuesday, a separate victim, who attended a different school and church, testified that Broussard also touched him inappropriately as a child.

The second victim told the court that the former priest molested him at least three or four times a week for more than three years.

The victim testified that he was so young and Broussard had groomed him so well that he believed the sexual acts were natural, and he did not think the abuse was unusual or wrong.

The victim said Broussard would assure him that he was "doing the right thing," and even went so far as pulling the second victim away from school recess several days a week to "fondle" him privately.

A third man eventually took the stand and said the former priest had touched him inappropriately as well.

Other testimony on Tuesday included the mother of the first victim. She told the jury about the day her son finally told her he had been molested, decades after the sexual abuse had occurred.

The victim's mother said she trusted the former priest and never thought his relationship with her son was strange or alarming.

During the defense's cross examination of the first victim's mother, attorneys questioned her repeatedly about the drinking problem her son had as a high school student, as well as his other health issues.

At one point, defense attorneys suggested a different priest in the church had a "special relationship" with another male in the congregation. That priest's last name was also Broussard.

Witnesses will continue to be called in this case throughout the week.
