Md. Bishop Charged with Sexual Abuse, Assault Charge

A 22-year-old Prince George's County woman told prosecutors her boss, Pastor Michael C. Turner of The Miracle Center of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, made unwanted sexual advances to her and sexually abused her during February and March of this year.

In her complaint, she says she worked at the Capitol Heights church for about 4 weeks. During this timeframe, and for 3 of them, Turner sexually harassed her and touched her without her permission. She says, "He would just literally rub his hands all over my body and push his body up against my body."

But, in the end, she says what happened in his private office one day is what made her speak to prosecutors and file a report, "He pushed me onto his couch and he had got on top of me."

The 61-year-old Senior Pastor is now facing charges of 2nd degree assault, 4th degree sexual offense, and harassment, according to court documents.

John Erzen, Spokesperson for the Prince George's County State's Attorney says, "Anytime we have a case involving an alleged sexual assault of any kind, we take that very seriously."

Turner was arrested and released on $10,000 bond. WUSA9 called and stopped by Turner's home and church several times but did not hear back. Turner has been a Pastor in the area for decades.
