Wells Fargo robbed; 40-year-old case of sexual abuse at St. Richard’s Catholic Church alleged: Richfield Police reports

For April 27 through May 3, Richfield Police responded to the following calls:

April 27 – Someone broke the window to a vehicle on the 7600 block of Fourth Avenue and stole a bag containing items valued at $100, it was reported around 11:45 a.m. The estimated damage was $250.

After police responded to a report of a suspicious person on the 6300 block of Penn Avenue around 11:45 a.m. It was determined that a catalytic converter was taken off a vehicle.

SEXUAL ABUSE ALLEGATION

A man arrived at the police department around 11:45 a.m. to file a report of first-degree criminal sexual conduct that he said took place at St. Richard’s Catholic Church 40 years ago. Lt. Joe Griffin said police are investigating. Tom Halden, communications director for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, did not provide further details. ” … I’m told the Richfield PD has all the information you need,” Halden wrote in an email.

April 28 – Police found a handgun and marijuana in a vehicle after a traffic stop on the 1300 block of East 78th Street around 10:30 a.m. The items were seized.

A victim of a phone scam on the 0 block of West 78th Street reported the loss of $7,000 and the possible fraudulent use of her debit card around 11:30 a.m.

BANK ROBBERY

The Richfield Wells Fargo branch was hit in a robbery involving an implied weapon around 5:15 p.m. at the inside teller counter. The female suspect had already left the scene with $4,980 when police arrived. The suspect did not say what kind of weapon she had, only that she was armed, Lt. Joe Griffin wrote in an email.

A man stole $70 worth of lottery scratch-off tickets from the SuperAmerica at 7720 Nicollet Avenue, it was reported around 9:15 p.m.

April 29 – The suspect in a domestic assault on the 7700 block of Nicollet Avenue left the scene in the victim’s car, it was reported around 1 p.m.

An auto theft on the 700 block of East 77th Street was reported around 3:45 p.m.

A reporting party on the 0 block of West 77th Street said around 6:15 p.m. that she received a letter purportedly from the IRS claiming she owed more than $31,000.

Police on special traffic assignment arrested a driver for third-degree DWI at Highway 169 and Interstate 494 around 10 p.m.

After a reporting party observed the behavior of a vehicle in a driveway at West 66th Street and James Avenue, police arrested a driver for second-degree DWI around 10:45 p.m.

April 30 – After stopping a vehicle for running a red light, police arrested a driver for fourth-degree DWI at Seventh Street and Fourth Avenue around 2:15 p.m.

Police arrested a man for fourth-degree DWI and failure to obey a traffic device at East 66th Street and Highway 77 around 2:15 a.m.

Someone caused damage to a garage door on the 6900 block of Russell Avenue in the amount of $1,000 to $1,500, it was reported around 9:15 a.m.

A victim on the 6700 block of Portland Avenue reported around 12:15 p.m. that her purse was stolen from a vehicle at an unknown location.

A victim reported around 3:45 p.m. that his credit card had been cloned and used for a $375 purchase at Best Buy.

An intoxicated male was arrested for violating a no-contact order at Candlewood Suites after police responded around 8:15 p.m.

May 1 – Police arrested a driver for third-degree DWI and providing false information to a police officer at Interstate 35W and Interstate 94 around 1 a.m.

Responding to a domestic incident on the 600 block of East 78th Street around 2:15 p.m., police arrested a male for possession of cocaine.

May 2 – Two catalytic converters were stolen off a vehicle on the 6900 block of Cedar Avenue, police determined around 8 a.m. The estimated loss was $2,000.

A theft from a vehicle was reported on the 7300 block of Blaisdell Avenue around 9:45 a.m.

The suspect in a domestic assault fled the scene on the 7100 block of Cedar Avenue before police arrived around 5 p.m. The victim was transported from the scene.

May 3 – Police received a report of theft from a vehicle on the 6500 block of Second Avenue around 6:45 a.m. Two locks on the vehicle had been damaged.

A vehicle on the 7300 block of Harriet Avenue was broken into, it was reported around 7:30 a.m.

Police arrested a man for domestic assault on the 1300 block of East 78th Street around 10 p.m.
