Jason Kopp, the Liverpool man accused of multiple counts of child sexual exploitation, stood in an orange jumpsuit and was emotional as a federal judge accepted his guilty plea in federal court Friday morning.

Kopp, 40, pleaded guilty to a total of 22 counts; one count of conspiracy to sexually exploit a child, 10 counts of sexual exploitation of children, nine counts of distribution of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography.

11 of those counts call for a maximum of 30 years of imprisonment and a minimum of 15 years per count. Nine of the counts call for a maximum of 20 years and a minimum of 5 years per counts, and two of the counts call for a maximum sentence of 20 years per count. In all, Kopp faces a maximum of 550 years of imprisonment.

Kopp will also be required to pay restitution to his victims and register as a sex offender. He is due in court for sentencing on September 14.

Kopp had filed a guilty plea in federal court last week, but that plea was taken back when his attorney took issue with some of the details in the charges against him, which she said were not in the original indictment against Kopp. After a heated exchange between the judge and defense, the judge told the defense to work with the prosecution to come to an agreement on the details.

This time there was little discussion about the charges, and Kopp's plea was accepted.

Kopp was accused along with Emily Oberst. She is the former teacher's aide at All Saints School in Syracuse. They are both alleged to have exploited two boys and girl, all under the age of five.

Oberst is expected back in court in August.
