Jury deliberations to continue for sixth day in Fife school abuse trial

A jury in the trial of two men accused of abusing pupils at a former school for boys will resume its deliberations on Wednesday. John Farrell, 73, and Paul Kelly, 63, face charges of sexual and physical abuse against more than 20 ex-pupils of St Ninian's School in Falkland, Fife. A trial at the High Court in Glasgow was told the men committed indecent acts on boys aged 11 to 16 and punished pupils in their care by making them stand in a hallway naked or wearing only their underwear. Farrell, from Motherwell, and Kelly, from Plymouth, deny the charges, which date from 1977 to 1983. The jury in the trial before Lord Matthews retired to consider its verdict last Tuesday and will resume its deliberations for a sixth day on Wednesday.
