Neil Mitchell says George Pell needs to come back to Australia.

Two men have gone public with details of their abuse allegations levelled at Cardinal George Pell.

The men have given a statement to a Victoria Police taskforce, claiming Cardinal Pell groped them in a public pool in the 1970s.

George Pell needs to step down from his role at the Vatican and come back to Australia.

Cardinal Pell has strongly denied the allegations describing claims he'd sexually abused anyone as totally untrue and completely wrong.

Neil Mitchell says - "He needs to come back and prove that. Deal with it."

Some allegations linked to the Cardinal have now reportedly been referred to the Office of Public Prosecutions for advice.

"This is fair to nobody, including George Pell."
