An Erie County pastor is accused of having sexual contact with a young child over a period of four years -- and it's not the first time he has been charged with sex crimes involving children.

Pastor Richard C. Mick of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Sandusky has twice been charged with rape; court documents show he has faced other charges in addition to the newest charges which are outlined in a grand jury indictment that was returned on August 11th.

Mick, 55, is alleged to have made sexual contact with a young child an unknown amount of times between the years 2006 and 2010. The child would have been between the ages of five and nine during that time.

Mick's first known run-in with the law came in 2012 when he was charged with two counts of rape for alleged incidents involving a female from 1998 to 1999. The case was dropped 13 months later when prosecutors said they could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Mick was guilty.

Less than one year later, in May of 2014, Mick was charged with two counts of gross sexual imposition for allegedly having sexual contact with a five year old boy back in 1999. In the same indictment, Mick was accused of raping a young girl sometime between 1999 and 2001. The girl would have been between the ages of five and six.

That case remains open and active. Mick was released after posting $140,000 bond.

Bond in the newest case was set at $120,000. Court documents, as of late Friday afternoon, did not specify whether or not bond was posted.

NBC 24 reached out to the Erie County Prosecutor's Office as well as the Sandusky Police Department's detective bureau; neither of the calls were returned.

NBC 24 also reached out to Lighthouse Baptist Church for comments; it went to voicemail. The message has not been returned.

Mick has not been convicted of any of the above mentioned crimes and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
