An upstate investor pushing to make it easier for child sex abuse victims to seek justice as adults took his fight to Gov. Cuomo’s backyard.

Gary Greenberg, who created the Fighting for Children Political Action Committee, was in Mount Kisco in Westchester County to endorse state Senate Democratic primary candidate Alison Boak.

Twenty people attended the rally, with some holding signs that said “protect children, not predators.” A young girl was holding one that read "protect us! We are only kids."

Bills to eliminate or extend the timeframes that an adult who was abused as a child can bring a lawsuit died in both the Assembly and Senate this year.

“I will go to Albany and make this a top priority,” said Boak, who will face Andrew Falk in the Sept. 13 Democratic primary for the chance to take on GOP Sen. Terrence Murphy in November.

Cuomo, who lives nearby, did not attend the rally.

But Greenberg said the governor’s counsel, Alphonso David, reached out to him to say that Cuomo has “always supported the Child Victims Act and would work to get it done.”

Cuomo spokesman Richard Azzopardi said David was stating the administration's previous position.

“As we said, these victims deserve justice," Azzopardi said.

Greenberg, who was sexually abused as a child in 1966, has seeded his PAC with $100,000 of his own money and raised another $10,000.

He said he’s also loaned the PAC $50,000 that will go toward donations to selected state candidates.

Greenberg through the committee has made endorsement in 19 Senate races and six Assembly races. All but one of those who received backing are Democrats.

"Right now, there are children being abused and it has to stop,” Greenberg said. “The insanity has to stop.”
