MINEOLA - An episcopal priest from Long Beach was shuttled to and from court in Mineola Tuesday to answer to child pornography and drug charges.

Christopher King was a parish priest at St. James Episcopal Church in Long Beach until his arrest Friday.

According to police, King had videos involving mostly boys, some as young as 2 to 3 years old, engaged in sexual activities on his computer at his church residence.

Detectives also say they found crystal meth and Xanax pills at the priest's home.

During his brief court appearance, King told the judge that he does not yet have the money to hire his own attorney. He said he has "made his best efforts" and that a bishop in California was helping him come up with the funds.

King has been put on administrative leave, meaning he cannot function as an episcopal priest anywhere in the nation. The episcopal bishop in Long Beach has said King will not be allowed to return to the rectory if he gets out on bail.
