O Conchuir Calls for Book of Condolences for Victims of Mother and Baby Homes

Sinn Fein councillor Cathal O Conchuir has called on Galway mayor Noel Larkin to open a book of condolences for all the children that died in the mother and baby homes .

Speaking today, Councillor O Conchuir said: “This is our holocaust and we should at least remember the most innocent and precious lives that passed away in these homes and who were buried in septic tanks. I will also be sending a request to An Coiste Logainmeacha – the committee that are involved in naming estates, roads etc. – to rename the Western Distributor Road as Bothar Mathair agus na Leanai in remembrance of the deceased children and as a reminder to society that this can never happen again”.
