Lawrence High School Administrators Suspended Following Misconduct Allegations

At least two administrators at Central Catholic High School in Lawrence were placed on leave this week following allegations of misconduct. A letter sent to students, parents and alumni on Thursday by Central President Christopher F. Sullivan said that two staff members were suspended while the Catholic school investigates their behavior. Reports say the two new allegations come just after the firing of Andrew Nikonchuk, 36, the school's former director of curriculum and instruction, for allegations of rape. The school said a former student, who graduated in 2008, came forward recently to say he was drugged and raped by Nikonchuk in 2006. Those allegations are under investigation by the school and police. The letter sent home on Thursday explained the misconduct of two new administrators. The administrators were not identified, and the allegations do not include any physical harm against students as in the case of Nikonchuk. One administrator faces allegations of sending inappropriate messages to a 2016 graduate through social media, while the other administrator allegedly posted photos of himself on an adults-only, encrypted-website according to a report by the Eagle Tribune.
