Father Zoilo L.G. Camacho

An 11th priest has been added to the list of Guam clergy accused of sexually abusing children decades ago. Monsignor Zoilo L.G. Camacho, who died about a decade ago, is named in a lawsuit filed Monday in federal court. Camacho is the brother of another accused priest, Juan Camacho.

Defrocked priest Raymond Cepeda also sexually abused the same boy, according to the complaint, filed by a man identified in court documents as H.J.C.

H.J.C., now 53 and living on Guam, is represented by attorney David Lujan. H.J.C.'s complaint is the 58th Guam clergy sex abuse lawsuit filed so far in federal and local courts.

The complaint states Zoilo Camacho sexually abused H.J.C from around 1974 to 1978 when he was 11 to 15 years old, and he also was abused by Cepeda from around 1978 to 1980, when he was about 15 to 17.

Zoilo Camacho's brother, Juan Camacho, who also is dead, was accused in April of sexually abusing a woman identified as T.G. when T.G. was 14 around 1972.

Another former altar boy, Anthony Flores, stated in a March 7 clergy abuse lawsuit that Monsignor Zoilo Camacho snapped at him, told him to be quiet, and to get out of his office when the boy told him another Father Louis Brouillard, was sexually abusing another boy.

The complaint states Camacho would sexually molest and abuse H.J.C. after mass, at the Santa Barbara Catholic Church in Dededo, by fondling his private parts, including when the boy was asked to confess in the rectory.

The complaint states Cepeda, at the same church, would molest H.J.C. and force him to perform sexual acts.

The complaint, which also names the Archdiocese of Agana and Cepeda, demands a jury trial and at least $10 million in damages.
