A former minister from Bryson City has pleaded guilty to indecent liberties with a child.

Eric Jones, 49, was sentenced this week to a 30-day active sentence, plus 90 days house arrest and three years probation.

The abuse dates back to 2002 when the victim was 9-years-old.

Jones will also have to register as a sex offender.
